SHAKE THE HIGH ROAD FESTIVAL
Campaign: Pre-event publicity
Tasks: Planning and execution of publicity campaign for the inaugural year of this East London arts and music festival taking in local, music and national culture media.
Results: A comprehensive spread of coverage in local and national media, including online, press, radio and television.
LDN MAGAZINE @ BIMM LONDON
Campaign: Relaunch, project/creative/people management
Tasks: Overseeing the creation of BIMM London’s print magazine, LDN, and brand extensions (website, playlist, social media) – mobilising a team of 18 Music Journalism students (writers, designers, photographer, street team) and exploiting relationships with talent and PRs.
Results: Establishment of a strong new brand in student media in print and online, including five successful print magazines written and designed by energised music journalism students with valuable new bylines, contacts and knowledge.
BBC national television news – recorded interview with entertainment correspondent Brenda Emmanus at The Social music venue, reporting on a live residency by then-fledging music artist Lianne La Havas.
The Guardian – interviewed for a feature by journalist Caroline Sullivan discussing the power of Lady Gaga and her fans during the Artpop era.
BBC regional radio breakfast show – live telephone discussion with presenters on why Cher Lloyd is a great pop star when she initially came to public attention on The X Factor.
Reprezent Radio – special guest in-studio appearance on panel show ‘Cop, Shop or Drop’, discussing the music industry, charts and reviewing new music.
